Our goal was to recreate the fan experience through an app that allows users to make predictions, per play, in real time. We wanted the user to feel like they were watching their favorite team at a sports bar with big screens and all their friends. The experience needed to feel immersive and driven by the user being engaged at every moment throughout the game.

Our challenge was to think and design with simplicity and clarity at the forefront, without sacrificing the dynamic, immersive visual experience that we wanted users to feel while using the app. With everything happening so fast, the design had to be overtly clear at all times. Practically, this meant constantly updating the user with what they needed to do next.

For our engineers, the biggest challenge was making sure the app always displayed the most up-to-date information. Our need for a fast, flexible but reliable technology led us to build with React Native and Ruby on Rails. Using these frameworks allowed us to manage the data of real-time probabilities and results as quickly as possible ensuring a smooth end experience.
